Kitchens International Designer Dionne Robertson shortlisted for National Design Award

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Kitchens International designer Dionne Robertson has been shortlisted at the Designerati Awards 2026, in the Kitchen Designer of the Year – Over £40k category.

The Designerati Awards celebrate excellence across the world of luxury kitchen and bathroom design, recognising the designers, brands, products and projects setting new standards for creativity, innovation and design. To be named among the finalists is a significant achievement and places Dionne alongside some of the most talented names in the UK’s luxury design industry.

Dionne’s shortlisted project is a beautifully reimagined Edinburgh maisonette, transformed from an outdated and enclosed property into a sophisticated, light-filled home designed around modern family life.

At the heart of the project is a refined Leicht kitchen, combining soft cashmere cabinetry, light timber finishes and a high-gloss Dekton Taga worktop and splashback with integrated Neff appliances. Careful spatial planning was key to making the most of the relatively compact footprint, with the kitchen opened up to connect naturally with the adjoining living space.

One of the defining features is the bespoke curved breakfast bar, extending from the island to create an intimate and sociable dining area without the need for a separate dining table. The design is complemented by a concealed corner pantry with electronic push-to-open functionality, maintaining the clean, handleless aesthetic while maximising storage.

The result is a calm, contemporary interior that balances considered luxury with everyday functionality - a project that demonstrates Dionne’s ability to combine creative thinking, detailed design and intelligent space planning.

Dionne is particularly proud of the curved seating area and its beautifully crafted mitred mini waterfall edges, while the clients were delighted with the finished result. You can see more of this project here.

The finalists will come together at the Designerati Awards ceremony later this year, where the winner of the Kitchen Designer of the Year – Over £40k category will be announced. We’ll be keeping everything crossed for Dionne as she represents Kitchens International on the national stage.
