Do you provide a free design consultation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer an initial design consultation to discuss your project, understand your requirements and explore the possibilities for your space. Consultations can take place at one of our showrooms or, where appropriate, in your home.  If you can't make it to one of our showrooms, we also offer a virtual consultation service via video call. There is no obligation to proceed with a project following your initial consultation. Do you charge for your design service?

No. Our kitchen design service is included free as part of your kitchen, bathroom or living space project, rather than being charged as a separate design fee. Our designers work with you throughout the process to develop the layout, materials, finishes, appliances and details of your space before the project progresses to installation. What kitchen styles do you offer?

We design kitchens across a broad range of styles, from contemporary and minimalist to traditional, classic and more architectural schemes. We don't believe a kitchen should be restricted to a particular style or trend; the design should respond to the character of your home and your personal taste.Our designers can work with different cabinetry styles, materials, colours, textures and finishes to create a kitchen that feels appropriate to its setting while meeting the practical requirements of everyday life. Our portfolio includes everything from modern handleless kitchens and understated contemporary schemes to more traditional kitchens with crafted detailing.

What kitchen brands do you work with?

Kitchens International works with a carefully curated portfolio of leading European and British kitchen manufacturers, including Poggenpohl, Leicht, Callerton and Stoneham. Each brand offers a different design language, construction approach, level of customisation and range of materials and finishes. Rather than recommending one brand for every project, our designers consider the architecture, style, requirements and budget of each client before recommending the most appropriate solution. We also work with premium appliance manufacturers including Gaggenau, Sub-Zero & Wolf and Siemens, alongside other specialist kitchen and interior brands.

Can you incorporate specific design features I have in mind in to my space?

Yes. Bespoke design allows us to develop the kitchen or interior space around your requirements, rather than expecting your requirements to fit a predetermined design.Whether you have a particular island configuration, appliance arrangement, storage solution, material, finish or architectural feature in mind, our designers can explore how it can be incorporated into the wider scheme. We can also develop solutions for more challenging spaces, including unusual room shapes, period properties, extensions and architecturally distinctive homes. If you have inspiration images, sketches or specific features you would like to include, bring them to your consultation and our designers can explore what is possible.

Do you offer virtual appointments via video call?

Yes, we can discuss your project with you by video call. This can be particularly useful for an initial conversation, for clients who live outside our immediate showroom locations, or when it is difficult to visit a showroom in person.A virtual consultation can be used to discuss your requirements, review plans and inspiration, and establish whether KI is the right fit for your project. Your designer can then advise on the most appropriate next steps.

What is your process for designing a bespoke kitchen or interior space?

Our process is designed to take you from an initial conversation through to the completed space.  We begin by understanding you, your home, how you intend to use the space and what you want to achieve. Our designers then develop the layout and design, considering everything from cabinetry and storage to materials, finishes, appliances, lighting and the relationship between the kitchen or interior space and the wider home. Once the design has been developed and agreed, we coordinate the next stages of the project, including specification, ordering, delivery and installation. Our project management team oversees the process through to completion, with aftercare available once your project is finished.The timescale will vary depending on the complexity and scope of the project as well as your build schedule. For larger renovations and new-builds, we  also work alongside architects, interior designers, builders and other professionals involved in the wider project.

How do I start the process of designing and installing a bespoke kitchen?

The best place to start is by contacting Kitchens International to arrange an initial consultation with one of our designers.  The easiest way to do this is by completing our book an appointment form.  Here you will have the option to arrange a visit one of our showrooms, a virtual appointment or for a member of our design team to visit your home.At this stage, you don't need to have every detail decided. It is helpful to bring any architectural drawings, floor plans, dimensions, photographs, inspiration images or ideas you already have. If you're undertaking a larger renovation or new-build, we recommend involving KI as early as possible so that the kitchen can be considered alongside the wider architectural and interior design of the home.From the initial consultation, your designer will guide you through the design process, develop a proposal around your requirements and explain the next steps, costs and timescales before you commit to the project.
