Every year, Milan Design Week sets the tone for the future of interiors, architecture and design. In 2026, LEICHT has once again demonstrated why it remains one of the most respected names in contemporary kitchen architecture, unveiling a striking new installation titled “Art is now” at the historic Museo Poldi Pezzoli.

Presented within the museum’s light-filled Orangery, the exhibition transforms the kitchen into something far beyond a functional space - positioning it as a sculptural centrepiece and an architectural work of art.

A Kitchen Designed as an Exhibit
At the heart of the installation is a freestanding island crafted in dramatic Rosso Lepanto marble. Defined by clean lines, precise proportions and rich materiality, the island becomes the focal point of the space while creating a seamless connection between cooking, entertaining and relaxation.

The generously proportioned breakfast bar encourages conversation and social interaction, reflecting the way modern kitchens continue to evolve as the true heart of the home. Rather than separating functionality from living, LEICHT’s concept blurs the boundaries between architecture, design and lifestyle.

The Beauty of Rosso Lepanto Marble
One of the defining features of the installation is the use of Rosso Lepanto marble - a richly veined natural stone originating from the Ligurian coast near Cinque Terre in Italy. Deep red tones, layered with intricate white and green veining, create a surface full of depth and movement that shifts beautifully with changing light.

Historically used within prestigious architectural interiors, the marble brings a sense of drama and permanence to the space while reinforcing LEICHT’s commitment to timeless material palettes and exceptional craftsmanship. The result is a kitchen that feels simultaneously contemporary and deeply rooted in architectural tradition.
Architecture, Art & Interior Design in Harmony
The setting itself plays an important role in the exhibition. Located within the historic Museo Poldi Pezzoli - renowned for its collection of Renaissance art, decorative objects and historic interiors - the Orangery provides a calm and culturally rich backdrop away from the intensity of the main exhibition halls during Milan Design Week.
LEICHT’s installation has been carefully designed to respond to its surroundings, with the colour palette and architectural language drawing influence from the museum itself. This thoughtful integration between space and kitchen architecture is something we continue to see shaping the future of luxury interior design.
