Kitchens International Debuts Gaggenau’s Latest Kitchen Innovations in Scotland: The Invisible Hob

Kitchens International was proud to host the Scottish debut of Gaggenau’s latest design-led innovations: the groundbreaking Essential Induction hob and the new Expressive Series of ovens.
As the first showroom in Scotland to showcase both collections, the launch marked another milestone in our long-standing relationship with Gaggenau - and reinforced our commitment to bringing the very latest in kitchen technology and design to Scotland.
Today, the Gaggenau Essential Induction hob and Expressive Series ovens remain on display at our Dundas Street showroom in Edinburgh, giving customers the opportunity to experience these exceptional products in person.
The Gaggenau Essential Induction: a hob that almost disappears
At the heart of the showcase is Gaggenau’s Essential Induction - an innovative induction hob designed to integrate almost invisibly into the worktop.
Rather than sitting visibly on top of the surface, the induction technology is concealed beneath the worktop, creating a completely seamless cooking area. When the hob is not in use, there is no traditional black glass hob interrupting the surface.
At Kitchens International, the Essential Induction is integrated into a Dekton Grigio worktop within one of our Poggenpohl kitchen displays, demonstrating how advanced appliance technology can be incorporated into a beautifully considered kitchen design.
And importantly, this is not simply a showroom display. The hob is fully operational, allowing visitors to experience the technology first-hand and see just how seamlessly it integrates into the worktop.
It is one of those innovations that is difficult to fully appreciate from an image alone. Once you see the cooking zones appear beneath the surface and experience the precision of the induction technology, its impact becomes immediately apparent.
Introducing Gaggenau’s Expressive Series
Alongside the Essential Induction, Kitchens International was also among the first showrooms in Scotland to showcase Gaggenau’s new Expressive Series ovens.
The collection introduces a new interpretation of the Gaggenau oven, combining sophisticated technology with a distinctive architectural design. The ovens respond as you approach, bringing the interface to life and creating an interaction that feels intuitive, considered and unmistakably Gaggenau.
Together, the Expressive Series and Essential Induction demonstrate a shared philosophy: technology should enhance the kitchen without overwhelming it.
The result is a more seamless relationship between appliance, architecture and everyday life with the kitchen becoming a space to cook, gather and live rather than simply a collection of appliances.
