Graeme Cheevers interactive cookery demonstration in Kitchens Internationals Glasgow Showroom

Thirty years of Kitchens International was always going to be something worth celebrating.

To mark three decades of creating exceptional kitchen and living spaces, we welcomed a very special group of clients, friends, business partners and ambassadors to our Glasgow showroom for an evening of great food, conversation and celebration.

Hosted in partnership with Chef Patron Graeme Cheevers and UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers, the evening brought together two worlds that share so much in common: a passion for exceptional design, craftsmanship, creativity and the finest possible experience.

Celebrating 30 years of Kitchens International

Since opening our doors in 1994, Kitchens International has built its reputation around creating highly considered, individual spaces that combine exceptional design with outstanding functionality.

Our 30th anniversary was an opportunity to reflect on that journey, but most importantly, to recognise the people who have helped make it possible. As our anniversary invitation put it, reaching this milestone was down to the support of our business partners and the loyalty of our clients. The evening was our way of saying thank you  to those who have been part of the KI story over the past three decades.

And what better way to celebrate than by bringing people together around a kitchen?

An evening with Graeme Cheevers

Guests were treated to an interactive cookery demonstration from Graeme Cheevers, Chef Patron of the Michelin-starred UNALOME in Glasgow.

Graeme is one of Scotland's most celebrated chefs, with a career that has included Michelin-starred kitchens before opening UNALOME, his own restaurant in Glasgow's Finnieston, in 2021. UNALOME was awarded a Michelin Star just eight months after opening and retained its star in the 2024 Michelin Guide.

For the KI anniversary event, Graeme brought his expertise into our Glasgow showroom, demonstrating his approach to cooking while showcasing the capabilities of the latest kitchen equipment.

Rather than simply watching from the sidelines, guests were able to get close to the action as ingredients were prepared, dishes came together and Graeme shared his knowledge, techniques and professional tips.

The result was a wonderfully informal and entertaining experience that brought the kitchen to life.

From kitchen design to fine dining

The evening was also a great illustration of why the kitchen has become such an important part of the modern home. A beautifully designed kitchen isn't simply somewhere to prepare food. It is a space for entertaining, sharing experiences and bringing people together.

Throughout the demonstration, Graeme made full use of the showroom kitchen, preparing and plating a succession of dishes while guests enjoyed watching the process unfold. From fresh fish being prepared and cooked to carefully crafted desserts, the demonstration showcased the precision, creativity and attention to detail synonymous with fine dining.

The showroom's integrated appliances were put through their paces too, demonstrating how professional-level cooking can be brought into a beautifully designed home kitchen.

An evening to remember

Away from the demonstration, guests enjoyed delicious canapés, refreshments and the opportunity to catch up with old friends, clients and partners. There was a real sense of occasion throughout the evening, but also a feeling that summed up what KI has always been about: bringing people together through great design, great hospitality and a shared appreciation for quality.

Thirty years is a significant milestone, and we are incredibly proud of the journey that has brought Kitchens International to this point. But while the evening gave us a chance to look back at our history, it was equally an opportunity to look ahead.

The world of kitchen design continues to evolve, and our ambition remains the same: to create extraordinary spaces where people love to live.

Thank you

To everyone who joined us in Glasgow, thank you. To our clients, both past and present, our business partners, designers, ambassadors and everyone who has supported Kitchens International over the past 30 years – this milestone belongs to you too.

And a special thank you to Graeme Cheevers and the team at UNALOME  for helping us create such a memorable evening.

Here's to the first 30 years of Kitchens International – and to everything still to come.

Kitchens International – 30 years of creating exceptional spaces.
