The 7 Rutland Square development is a converted, category A listed, 19th Century townhouse, featuring a mix of studios, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments.
These unique living spaces have been restored to the highest standard with every modern convenience and contemporary design blending perfectly with the original features of the townhouse such as ornate cornicing and elegant sash windows.
In this particular apartment, strict building warrant regulations meant no furniture could be installed on walls within the apartment, any fitted furniture had to be “freestanding” within the room.
The apartment is a single room, with a separate en-suite, therefore consideration had to be given to incorporating both living and bedroom areas within the one space.
Contemporary Leicht Concrete furniture was incorporated into the design to contrast with the traditional features within the room. Whilst the building has been restored to enhance many of the traditional features the interior décor is contemporary throughout.
Despite being compact the kitchen area had to provide adequate cooking, cleaning and laundry equipment. The client required a Combination Oven/Micro, Induction Hob, Extractor, Integrated Refrigeration (including a freezer), Integrated dishwasher and Integrated Washer/Dryer.
The bedroom area provides adequate space for a king sized bed and has suitable wardrobe storage. Lighting and bedside storage was carefully considered and incorporated within the design.
