NICK Nairn’s long-awaited Aberdeen Cook School officially launched today, catering to a demand from would-be cooks from across the country.

The £500,000 project is providing a further jobs and tourism boost to the north-east of Scotland.

The new Aberdeen Cook School has been a passionate desire of Nick’s for several years and is located in a stunning listed building, formerly St Nicholas Kirk’s old church hall in the city centre, which has been transformed into two separate state-of-the-art foodie havens.

Work on the building has been carefully designed to enhance original features such as the carved mouldings and stained glass windows, alongside striking white and stainless steel kitchen areas, designed by Kitchens International.

Perth has a new interiors kid on the block. The city is set to house the latest Kitchens International showroom. The new space contains three kitchen displays as well as appliances from Siemens, Vzug, Wolf and SubZero, including steam ovens, warming drawers, induction and teppan yaki hobs. The Perth showoom will be officially opened by celebrity chef Nick Nairn and his team on Wednesday, when they will be running a VIP day of cookery demos and offering culinary tips. We had a highly successful three days at the Homes & Interiors Scotland Show at the SECC in Glasgow at the end of October. Kitchens International had the largest stand in the show with two beautiful kitchens – one state-of-the-art Stoneham kitchen, where chefs from the Nick Nairn Cookschool held constant demonstations to show how these kitchens can be used in the home – and one contemporary Leicht kitchen. Many thousands of people visited the stand and chatted to our designers.

Kitchens International supplied the working kitchen and a display kitchen which were the main features in the Nick Nairn village at the BBC Good Food Show which was on in Glasgow on 21 Oct. It was a very successful Show with Nick doing many very popular hands-on demonstrations and workshops throughout the three days of the Show, while the KI team were on hand to show how their kitchens are designed and produced to give a kitchen of your dreams. Scottish retailer Kitchens International has invested £75,000 in a refurbishment of  its Broxburn showroom, near Edinburgh, to attract contract and retail customers.  The 1,600sq ft showroom features Leicht, Callerton and Hofermeier kitchen displays, with working appliances.  Over 100 customers attended the opening, which also featured TV chef Nick Nairn providing cookery demonstrations.
