Andrew Fairlie, one of our favourite Scottush chefs, who incidentally cooks on a KI kitchen, has become the first and only chef in Scotland to be awarded the prestigious title of Grand Chef by the illustrious Relais & Châteaux organisation. Andrew joins an elite group of only seven chefs awarded the title in the UK, and is one of just three who are independent restaurateurs – the others being Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck and Michel Roux Jnr. at Le Gavroche. Many congratulations to you Andrew! Andrew runs the his eponymous restaurant – the only with two Michelin stars in Scotland – within the world famous Gleneagles hotel in rural Perthshire.

Select customers and potential customers can attend a special cookery demonstration evening given by the Martin Wishart Cookschool at our flagship Dundas Street studio in Edinburgh on 9 May 2012. Cooking such mouth-watering dishes such as Jerusalem Artichoke Soup with Chestnut Puree and Red Leg Partridge with a Rosemary Jus served with Braised Savoy Cabbage and Fondant Potato, the clients will come away inspired not just by the dishes but by how to get the most out of a KI kitchen and its appliances. The evening is to be hosted by a team from the famous Martin Wishart cookschool in Edinburgh and aimed at clients who share an interest in fine dining and beautiful kitchens. Cooking on our new hand painted Mowlem & Co kitchen, this is another of many co-hosted events between the MW cookschool and Kitchens International. Renowned chef Nick Nairn and his team from the Nick Nairn cookschool put on a dazzling series of demonstrations to officially open our newest and sixth showroom at 16-18 Princes St Perth. Perth will serve the cemtral Scotland market and with three beautiful displays of Callerton and Leicht kitchens this airy showroom is the latest in kitchen design and appliances. Over 100 people came and saw Nick cook on the kitchens and produce mouthwatering dishes.

We are opening our new Perth Design studio on 28th March with renowned chef Nick Nairn and his team cooking up a day of treats. Nick and the chefs from the Nick Nairn cookschool will demonstrate their favourite dishes using the latest equipment in our state-of-the-art showroom. Throughout the day from 10am-8pm Nick will be working his culinary magic and sharing tips and techniques, doing book signings and will be running some interactive cooking sessions.

Glasgow KI customer Mr & Mrs Rankin had their own ‘Come Dine with Me’ experience recently after buying a Stoneham kitchen from KI. Since they purchased a KI kitchen at the Homes & Interiors Scotland Show in October they were offered this special thank you gift from KI. A chef and assistant from the Nick Nairn Cookschool came into the house and cooked dinner for 8 for the Rankins and their family, while KI Glasgow  Manager  Licia di Pasquale assisted. Mr & Mrs Rankin said: “Thank you again for helping to make last night such a special evening. The dinner was fantastic! It was great to see the new kitchen being put to such good use. Thank you to Kitchens International for a wonderful event.”

A huge group of our sales designers went out to Germany recently to see for themselves and receive training on the new Leicht 2012 kitchens. With many sophisticated designs suited for contemporary living the KI team were given full product training and saw the kitchens being made in the factory. This ensures they are knowledgeable and experienced when advising clients. Leicht kitchens are available at our Westfield Rd, Broxburn, Glasgow and Perth showrooms.

Ten of our sales designers have recently visited Germany to see the new RWK 2012 kitchens. They were trained up on the new designs, which includes some bright coloured kitchens, and had a fascinating factory tour. Visiting the kitchen furniture manufacturers helps them understand how the kitchens are designed, put together and the qualities of each range, which in turn helps them inform KI clients of all the benefits and styles of these sleek, contemporary kitchens.

A select group of eight KI clients were given an early Christmas present when they attended a special hands-on day at the Martin Wishart cookschool. They were given the chance to work with professional chefs and produced some delicious dishes. This was aimed at special clients who shared a passion for cooking, as well as working in a top quality kitchen.

Our January sale has been a great success with increased footfall, good sales and a positive beginning to the year. All our five ex-display kitchens were sold at 70% off and now we’re busy doing designs, installations etc. Despite the challenging economic situation the interest and sales at KI have shown that there are many people out there wanting high quality kitchens. Lets hope 2012 continues in the same vein!

We’re soon opening a new showroom in Perth. Featuring some beautiful kitchens it will allow us to provide an even better kitchen design and retail service for  the whole of Scotland with showrooms from Aberdeen in the north to Glasgow in the south.
